High levels of plasma concentrations of interleukin-1-alpha in patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis.
To study the role of the cytokine interleukin-1-alpha (IL-1-alpha) in patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis (CBP). Cross-sectional study. Tertiary referral and university hospitals. Twenty-seven patients with CBP (mean age, 42 years) and 6 with nonbacterial prostatitis (NBPP; mean age, 30 years). Serum and prostatic fluid IL-1-alpha levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The findings were compared with those obtained from 6 patients with NBPP and 6 healthy control subjects. Serum IL-1-alpha levels in patients with CBP were significantly higher than in control subjects (89.3+/-16.2 versus 21.6+/-6.3 pg/mL; P 01e38acffe
(The Qur'an is not for Arabs only)In light of the above it is clear that it is not the intention of the Prophet to say that the Qur'an is for the Arabs and not for the other nations. If there was such an intention he would have been condemned and declared an infidel.
Sheikh Abdul-Aziz bin Baz was asked this question and he replied: 'The Prophet is reported to have said:
"Read Qur'an to each nation. You (Koran) are not for the Arabs only but also for the others."
By the way, the verses upon which this misquoted verse is based in the Qur'an, are the following:
and made plain by a hadith in which the Prophet asked the people to teach the book to the nomad Arabs and said:
"They were created to the copy of the Book."
The Arabic words of the above verse are:
فَإِنْ حَكَمْ عِنْدَكَ فَتَدَّهِمُوا سَيِّئَةَ يُؤْمِنُوا لِّفَضِّيْءٍ مِنْهَا
It is clear from the first word of the verse that the Prophet's intention is that all peoples should read the Qur'an. The latter part of the verse clarifies this, as the Prophet meant to convey this by saying that there was a "copy of the Book" in heaven (from which the copy was made) and this copy was given to people from heaven, the other nations. This other nation in the verse is mentioned as the "copy" by the Prophet, and this is a rhetorical way of conveying the message to the people, that the copy is given to people from heaven.
The Prophet's statement that the Qur'an is "not for the Arabs only but also for the others" in reality means that the Prophet wished for everyone to read the Qur'an, although that he was calling on them to do so through the Qur'an and with the companions and scholars (the Ummah) as teachers. To make this clearer, the Prophet said:
"Read the Qur'an to each nation," which means that the
